Surface Design Classes Offered at the Guild

Artists, quilters and designers are encouraged to join this group whose focus is to inspire creativity and innovation and to explore new design and texture possibilities. The group meets the second Tuesday of each month and centers on techniques for embellishing fabric and other surfaces, such as making fiber beads, stamping, beading, adding foil accents, sewing with paper and fabric, designing with Angelina fibers and embossing copper and metal.
The mission of the workshop is to increase awareness, understanding and appreciation of textiles in the arts, design and quilting communities. There is no fee to join the group. Bobbie Sacks in the leader of the workshop which has been meeting since December 2007. The group has no formal teacher, and the group learns through DVDs, books, printed materials and always from each other.
